Larry noticed her silence and looked up from the couch.
“What’s wrong with you now?” he snapped, already irritated.

Bethany took a deep breath. “I know everything, Larry,” she said, her voice shaking but firm. “The secret meetings. The lies. The promises you broke.”

Larry jumped to his feet. “You don’t know anything,” he yelled, stepping closer. “You’re imagining things again!”

That was when Larry lost control.

She pushed past him, opened the front door, and stepped outside. The cool night air hit her face as tears finally fell—but she didn’t turn back. The door closed behind her with a final click.
