Bethany walked into the room wearing her usual confidence — chin high, eyes sharp, footsteps trembling only slightly.

“Larry? You said you needed to talk. What happened now?”

Larry took a deep breath.
“This is going to sound impossible… but I need you to listen without interrupting.”

Bethany raised an eyebrow, suspicious already.
“Go on.”
