It was supposed to be an ordinary evening at Woody’s, the cozy little restaurant on the corner where Anthony and Shayla used to go back when times were simpler. After all the recent chaos between them, Anthony had begged Shayla to meet him there, saying he wanted to “talk things out” over dinner.

Shayla hesitated but finally agreed—mostly for Kai’s sake. Maybe, just maybe, Anthony was finally ready to take responsibility for his mistakes.

The restaurant was warm, filled with soft music and the smell of grilled food. Anthony and Shayla sat across from each other in a booth near the window. Their conversation was tense, but civil. Shayla kept her arms crossed, while Anthony leaned forward, pleading with his eyes.
